The Tekken series is one of the most popular fighting games on the planet. The series has some truly iconic characters, like Heihachi and Jin, to some straight-up weird characters, like Kuma and Mokujin. Over the series’ more than twenty-year life, many endings for the characters have been shown to players, some of which are just strange.
Granted Tekken has been a series that has never really taken itself too seriously, but some of these endings are just weird. Now weird does not necessarily mean bad; in fact, some of these are probably the best endings in the series, but having a buddy walk into a room and while you encounter one of these strange endings makes for an awkward experience. Here are the absolute strangest endings in the series.
10 Forest Law: Tekken Tag Tournament 2
The son of fellow Bruce Lee lookalike Marshall Law, for whatever reason Forest’s ending in TTT 2 is told through papercraft.
The ending, which also features Paul Phoenix, has an abundance of bright lights and slightly creepy facial expressions. There is also no dialogue in this ending which is odd for a modern Tekken game. Overall it is kind of hard to tell what is happening and it is better to just forget about this ending and move on.
9 Ganryu: Tekken Tag Tournament 2
The sumo wrestler Ganryu has been one of the less popular characters in the series. One of the reasons might be that the guy is just a simp for fighters Michelle Chang and her daughter, Julia.
This evidenced by this ending in which Ganryu, in his sumo garb, peeps through a cracked door at seemingly one of them about to take a shower. The scene builds up Ganryu waiting for the big moment, accompanied by a tea bot boiling, before the scene is abruptly interrupted by handcuffs locking and Ganryu is arrested by Lei Wulong.
8 Marshall Law: Tekken 6
Back to the Laws again but this time with its patriarch, who has been around since the first the game. In this ending, Marshall is in a house with fellow fighters Paul Phoenix and Steve Fox with the King of Iron Fist Tournament prize money behind them. The three agree to split the money and Marshall decides to cook a pizza with a special ingredient, laxatives, to celebrate.
He gives it to Steve and Paul who both eat the pizza and immediately feel the effects. While they are distracted, Marshall takes the money for himself and happily walks away. The weirdness is doubled by Marshall’s devious, and slightly creepy, grins.
7 Heihachi Mishima: Tekken 5
One of the strongest fighters in the series, Heihachi is also an insane dude who has done some equally insane things. The guy’s insanity is truly put on display in his Tekken 5 ending.
In this ending, he straps his son Kazuya, grandson Jin and father Jinpachi to a rocket that then proceeds to launch them into space. Heihachi watches this from a distance and can only laugh at this.
6 Ling Xiaoyu: Tekken 3
Perhaps the youngest fighter in the series, Xiaoyu enters the third King of Iron Fist Tournament with the hopes that Heihachi, who happens to be one of the richest dudes in the world, will build her a theme park. She is seen fantasizing about this in the beginning of her Tekken 3 ending, which is all animated.
Heihachi does build a theme park, but one for himself complete with rides featuring his face and hair called Heihachi Land. It seems he gets the last laugh before Xiaoyu beats him up and calls him a jerk. A fun ending that shows Tekken’s sillier side.
5 Lee Chaolan: Tekken 5
The adopted son of Heihachi who has since been disowned by him, Lee would go on to form his own tech company, Violet Industries, after growing bitter towards his adopted father. He gets revenge though in his Tekken 5 ending but in a really strange way.
It starts simple enough with Lee relaxing at a pool in a tropical getaway with plenty of girls. But then he snaps his fingers and the players sees Heihachi’s chiseled butt in a speedo. Lee made him his personal servant, complete with a bowtie that will blow up at Lee’s command should Heihachi disappoint him.
4 Anna Williams: Tekken 2
Poor Anna, she has been getting tortured by her sister Nina in each game in one way or another. The worst though is perhaps in Anna’s ending in Tekken 2.
It starts with Anna taking a quiet shower, but then Nina sneaks in and takes a picture of a nude Anna. The player never sees this actual photo, but one has to wonder why Nina took the pic in the first place.
3 Panda: Tekken 5
Almost the same as fellow bear Kuma’s ending, Panda has Kuma slightly beat though a bit. In this ending, Panda is in control of the Mishima Zaibatsu and is in an office before being notified of Kuma’s arrival by Lee, who is her assistant.
Kuma, who communicates in subtitled growls like Panda, comes bearing gifts for his love before Panda denies him by activating a trap door that causes him to fall, complete with a cartoon falling sound effect. It seems that would be it but then Xiaoyu walks into the room before pressing a button that activates a trapdoor under Panda. Ending with Xiaoyu questioning just what happened with Lee’s signature wink and thumbs up in the background.
2 Kuma: Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Kuma has been trying to get Panda’s affection ever since Panda made her debut in Tekken 3. In TTT 2, Kuma is at a theme park posing with some girls, who believe he is a guy in a costume, before spotting Panda. Kuma is so smitten by him that he drools on one of the poor girls.
Kuma chases after Panda who leaps at her before being denied in an epic way by Panda with an uppercut. A guy in a panda suit goes to check on Kuma before being trounced by him.
1 Roger: Tekken Tag Tournament 2
A boxing kangaroo that also happens to be a pretty crappy dad and husband. Roger also happens to be the host of perhaps the strangest ending in all of Tekken.
Feeling bad, he brings flowers for his wife and encounters a most unusual site. His wife and son, Roger Jr., are eating a nice meal with the boxing raptor Alex. This is complete with slow motion shots of the three enjoying themselves and a devastated Roger who then gets crushed by the door accidently by his wife who finds the flowers. It is all just a really strange time and is Tekken’s goofiness at its best.
