Listening to conversations you really shouldn’t be a part of is a guilty pleasure far too many of us have. Now you can indulge in it without the social stigma that tags along in real life - by playing Telling Lies on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, starting April 28th.

The game is described as an investigative thriller game in which you listen to records of conversations, stolen from the NSA, that span a two-year period. You sit at a laptop, type in keywords you want to know more about, and the search returns results containing those keywords. With some savvy searching, you can find out way more about the characters than anyone should know. There’s also a catch: you only have a limited amount of time in one playthrough to listen to as many recordings as you can.

Telling Lies launched in August 2019 for Microsoft Windows, iOS, and Android and went on to win two awards, with a number of nominations across categories that include Best Storytelling, Best Indie Game, and Best Narrative Design. As our reviewer said, it’s a “larger-than-life story grounded by exceptionally human performances from the cast.”

A disclaimer, though: if you’re not a fan of endlessly watching videos of people talking, this game might not be for you. But if you are, you can scratch that itch in a legal way. Just stay at home and buy the game – it’s sure to have you coming back to connect just a few more dots.
