The Walking Dead franchise has become quite an anomaly, spawning countless different interpretations in the form of not only shows but in video games as well. While not all of the games have been good, such as Survival Instinct, there has been one series that really showcases the best parts of the franchise.

The games made by Telltale are quite popular due to their superb storytelling. The games are full of emotional moments, both gleeful and saddening. If you’ve played the series, you’ll understand these fantastic memes and perhaps want to engage in this amazing story again. We should mention that if you haven’t played these games yet, this article contains major spoilers for the series.

10 Back From The Dead

The news of The Walking Dead: The Final Season being cancelled was devastating, to say the least. Luckily for the fans of this great series, Skybound Games revived the franchise, and did so in great fashion. The game they created for the fans was nothing short of riveting. They gave the series a proper send off and a brilliant ending for which we will be forever grateful.

9 Mixed Signals

William Carver from The Walking Dead: Season Two plays a big role in the season but his actions and mindset don’t always line up. He liked the fact that Clementine told him that she wanted him to die because it showed she had guts.

This is the same guy who tossed another character off of the top of the building for not getting his work done. If he sees you as weak, you’re as good as dead.

8 Room For Seconds?

Poor Mark. He offers a helping hand and a large supply of food for the group in the first season when they were just starting to run out. He endured a truly horrific fate in the form of being eaten alive. Ironically, it wasn’t by zombies, but by cannibals. You find him upstairs, in a hidden room, on the floor, missing both of his legs. What a way to go out.

7 Kenny Didn’t Like That

Not everyone is a fan of Kenny’s short temper and random outbursts. Who can blame him though? He’s just a guy wanting to protect his son and wife and he’s been through a lot. Even still, the game reminding you that Kenny wasn’t a fan of your actions, regardless of your choices, becomes rather comical. Go ahead, Kenny, take a mental note of this insignificant encounter so you can throw it back in the players face later on.

6 That’s Awes…Oh, Never mind

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is regarded by most as the weakest entry into the series, for good reason. The story is decent for the most part, but pales in comparison to every other season in the series.

It’s safe to say  that it’s best to leave that part out when thinking back on all the great moments you’ve had with the franchise. You don’t want to spoil your perception of an otherwise stellar series.

5 Can’t You Do Anything Right?

Yes, Ben is partly responsible for basically everything bad that happens after episode 2 in the first season. Does that make him a bad guy? Not necessarily. You can’t excuse his actions but he is young and dumb and was only doing what he thought was right at the time. Give him a chance to explain himself and maybe you’ll see that he’s not as bad as you think.

4 Such A Great Series

If you’ve had the chance to experience this story for yourself, you know just how captivating it can be. The emotion it evokes is unlike anything else. The characters, the choices, the loss, they all blend together into perfect harmony and create something so special that anyone who hasn’t played this series can’t understand. It will always be regarded as one of the finest examples of spectacular storytelling and will be enjoyed for years to come.

3 Right In The Feels

Lee is the main protagonist in the first season of The Walking Dead. He comes across a little girl named Clementine and begins taking care of her due to the way the world was. Never did we expect how much that bond would grow into something so unique that we couldn’t help but feel attached to each of the characters. You can genuinely feel how much Lee develops throughout the game and how he’s changed. The way he cares for Clementine is so heartwarming and will hit you in the feels every time you play the game.

2 My Girl

Lee isn’t the only one who becomes attached to Clementine. The player can’t help but feel so sorry for her in the first season when she’s all alone and doesn’t know where her parents are. When you finally discover the fate of her parents, it’s a heartbreaking moment for not only Clementine, but the player as they know the impact that has on her. The attachment you grow to Clem throughout the four seasons of this series of games is something truly unforgettable. Hats off to the writers for creating such a memorable and lovable character.

1 Holding Back Tears

At the end of the first season, the player is left with a difficult choice; shoot Lee or let him turn. Those last few moments with Lee make a difference in Clementines future as he gives her a final piece of advice of the player’s choice and it becomes a repeated statement for the rest of the series. This showcases the genuine impact that Lee had on Clementine. Fighting back tears in these final moments of Lee’s life proves to be challenging as you remember all of the good times you’ve had with him. Rest in peace, Lee.
