Terrorarium might be a game about adorable gore and destruction, but that doesn’t mean that the development/publishing team at Stitch Media has no appreciation for creativity.
Stitch Media recently released its Long List selection of contenders for the Terrorarium Level Design Scholarship contest, which recognizes game design students and recent graduates who showcase their talent, skills, and overall creativity by creating an original level for the 3D action platformer. Submissions will be judged by a panel of game industry professionals, who will also provide feedback to the shortlist qualifiers.
Entrants are allowed to use the game’s level editor and library of assets to create their level, with the creator of the winning “murder garden” receiving a cash scholarship of $2,000 CAD. The winning submission will also be a featured level in the game, which is currently slated for an August 2020 release.
In addition, the Top 5 finalists will have their levels featured in Terrorarium, while also receiving a Nintendo Switch and copy of the game. Finally, up to 25 of the submissions will have their murder gardens promoted, while also receiving in-game design credits.
Terrorarium itself looks like a pretty intense game. If the level submissions are any indication of what’s to come, players are certainly going to have their hands full come August.
