Nacon Games and Kylotonn Games (KT Racing), tweeted a teaser trailer for its upcoming Test Drive Unlimited game that will be revealed on July 7th at Nacon Connect. Not much is known about the specifics. However, a look at their website offers a bit of insight.

The Test Drive franchise started in 1987 by Accolade, a video game company started by Alan Miller and Bob Whitehead who co-founded Activision in 1979. They later sold the company in 1999 to Infogrames Entertainment, a French video game company that later became Atari SA.

In 2016, the Test Drive Unlimited Series was handed over to Bigben Games, a subsidiary of BigBen Group which in February of 2020 merged both Bigben Games and Nacon, its gaming accessory subsidiary, to both fall under the name Nacon.

The Test Drive series is an open-world video game series that has players avoiding traffic and the police while being timed, while later in the series, added more customizable options and RPG elements.

Test Drive Unlimited (2006), one of KT Racing’s most popular projects, took place on the island of O’ahu of Hawaii. Players could enjoy the busy streets of Honolulu or explore Hawaii’s vast rainforests and sandy beaches for an off-roading experience.

Like most racing games, there’s only so much freedom one has with just driving a car, which was what Test Drive Unlimited wanted to change with its added mechanicsand exploration.

Unfortunately, the Test Drive series took a left when they should’ve gone right with Test Drive Unlimited 2, with its poor reviews that cited bugs and a lack of quality of driving mechanics.
