Is this an indicator of poor quality? Not at all! With each console you get two authentically retro three-button Genesis controllers that feel just like the real thing and a collection of 42 Genesis classic titles that will play just like you remember them. Maybe even better, given the fact that you’ll likely be displaying this console on a snazzy HD TV.
Genesis truly was the console of sequels. You have great titles like Street Fighter II, Streets of Rage 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Road Rash II. A lot of twos in there, but there’s also Phantasy Star IV and Shinobi 3 if you want to get beyond immediate sequels.
Other cool features include a set of chintzy background images and a setting that commands your console to display fake CRT TV scanlines for that truly authentic ‘90s feel.
We can’t say if the Sega Genesis Mini will ever be cheaper than this, so if you want one, now’s the time to grab it.
