The Need for Speed series has had gamers experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows over the years, and it is one of EA’s best-selling franchises. A popular entry that was good enough to get remastered was the 2010 edition of Hot Pursuit. A game that not only lets you play as a street racer looking to avoid the cops but also as a cop trying to take them down in arcade-style gameplay, at least when compared to other realistic racing games.

The game has some instantly recognizable cars and some that are not as identifiable but will be once you use them. As with all racing games, some cars in it are inevitably better than others, and here are the 10 best in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

10 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan (Concept)

Though this car has slower steering compared to others of its type, the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan is capable of driving at high speeds with a max of 133 and can take a pounding to boot. This makes it a good choice for beginners doing hot pursuits.

The car is only available to cops and is unlocked by amassing 15,000 cop bounty and then purchased for $40,000 in the game.

9 Porsche 911 Speedster

Porsche is known for its iconic car design, so much so that it even found its way onto one of the cars in Cyberpunk 2077. This Need for Speed car, part of the Porsche Unleashed pack, has a top speed of around 198 without nitrous and 210 with it. It also has decent handling and durability as well.

Despite its high-speed stats, this car has a low acceleration rate, which makes it most viable on straight roads. But other than that, the car is a fine addition to the Porsche family. In the remaster, the 911 Speedster Interceptor can be unlocked by completing the Marked Man level. The racer version requires completing the Barnstormer event with a time of at least 4:10.00

8 Chevrolet Camaro

An iconic American muscle car, the Camaro lacks handling but is great for racing in a straight line. The Camaro can even beat out the BMW M3 E92, and it offers toughness in spades along with its speed.

Both racers and cops can use this vehicle, and it is a cheap car to buy at only $55,000 once you amass a 20,000 racer bounty. For those wanting to stick with a familiar car, this is one to go with.

7 Nissan 370 Z

A popular car that has been featured in multiple games, the Nissan 370 Z is almost always a great all-around option. Hot Pursuit is no exception to this as the 370 Z is a great car in this game as well.

The car has high durability, making it a good choice in both races and pursuits. Plus its speed and handling are solid as well, allowing the Nissan 370 Z to be a good and balanced fit for all to use. The cop version is unlocked at an accessible 30,000 bounty, while the racer edition has a bounty of 120,000 in the remaster of Hot Pursuit.

6 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

If the 370 Z isn’t fast enough for you, then a good alternative is the Subaru Impreza WRX STI as it comes with a top speed of 160. This also makes it a good cop car to use as it can be unlocked with only 5,000 cop bounty.

It has a great balance of everything, including good acceleration, durability, and handling. The Subaru Impreza WRX STI is the best car for a beginner as it is extremely reliable and suitable for just about any situation.

5 Ford GT

A car best known for being the main focus in the movie Ford Vs. Ferrari, the Ford GT shows up in Hot Pursuit and is the vehicle to use. It does lack a bit in the understeering department but more than makes up for it with its speed.

The Ford GT’s max speed of 205 mph is a bit low for its category, but this “flaw” does make the car a bit easier to use. This vehicle is a good option for those who want to dip their feet into the exotic series. The racer version requires a bounty of 275,000, while the Speed Enforcement unit is unlocked once 235,000 is reached.

4 Nissan GTR V-Spec

Belonging to the super series and rapid deployment, the V-Spec is a great car for ramming police vehicles due to it being prone to understeer. The car has an all-wheel-drive system that makes it a fantastic option for ramming other vehicles since it greatly enhances its durability.

This on top of its high speed of 193 mph, making the GTR a good car for both racers and police alike. The Nissan GTR V-Spec’s bounty is 545,000.

3 Lamborghini Gallardo

The Gallardo is a great option that is perhaps the most versatile out of any of the supercars. It has both a high top speed and an overall good balance of performance.

While the car is great for both racers and police, it is perhaps better with the latter as it can keep up with even the most intense of racers out there. The car’s racer bounty is 235,000, but its cop bounty is only 120,000.

2 Koenigsegg Agera

Arguably one of the fastest cars in the game with a top speed of 242 mph, the Agera moves like a rocket. However, this high speed comes at the price of twitchy handling.

Despite this though, the car is great for evading police and catching up to suspects who might be a bit out of reach. It costs a million dollars to purchase but is well worth the investment. The Agera’s racer and cop bounty are 755,000 and 620,000 respectively.

1 Porsche Carrera GT

Despite lacking the speed of the Agera, the Carrera GT offers players the chance of driving at impressive rates without having to sacrifice handling. This beast offers great and direct steering.

Usable by both the cops and racers, it is the very definition of a jack of all trades kind of car. Everyone should have this car in their collection to have a good and reliable car that’s good for just about any situation. The racer unit has a bounty of 405,000, while the cop model comes with a 595,000 unlock requirement.
