With the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s first DLC, the Isle of Armor, players are flocking back to the Galar region, as well as the recent hype prompting new players to join in and begin their very own Pokémon adventure too.

Of course, one of the most exciting aspects of any Pokémon journey is seeing your Pokémon evolve into their next forms and players will actively seek to evolve their team as soon as possible to fill their Pokédex quicker. So if you are one of those players looking to evolve all of your Pokémon quickly, check out these Pokémon who evolve at the lowest levels.

10 Level 17 - Snivy/Tepig/Oshawatt/Fletchling/Rowlet/Litten/Poppolio

There are seven Pokémon that evolve at level 17, with six of these being starter Pokémon from Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Sun and Moon. The only non-starter included is the Normal/Flying-type Fletchling.

Out of all of these Pokémon, only four are currently available in Pokémon Sword and Shield, which were only recently added as part of the Isle of Armor DLC. Fletchling can be found in the wild in the Isle of Armor, and Poppolio, Litten, and Rowlet are given out by the Diglett trainer after collecting 100 Digletts. Which starter you are given is dependent on which starter you chose in the Galar region, for example, if you chose the Water-type Sobble, you will receive the Water-type Poppolio.

9 Level 16 - Bulbasaur/Charmander/Squirtle/Nidoran/Abra/Chikorita/ Treecko/Torchic/Mudkip/Piplup/Lillipup/Chespin/Fennekin /Froakie/Grookey/Scorbunny/Sobble

There are quite a few Pokémon that evolve at level 16, with the majority of them being various starter Pokémon from different titles, including the starter Pokémon for the Galar region, as well as the Kanto starters.

Out of all of these Pokémon, the only ones currently available in Sword and Shield are Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle Abra, Lillipup, Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. Furthermore, some of these were only recently added to the game as part of the Isle of Armor DLC.

8 Level 15 - Sentret/Mareep/Wynaut/Bidoof/Shinx

Five different Pokémon evolve at level 15: the Normal-types Sentret and Bidoof, the Electric-types Shinx and Mareep, and lastly, the Psychic-type Wynaut. However, out of all these Pokémon, only two are currently available in Sword and Shield: Wynaut, and Shinx.

Additionally, Shinx was only recently added as part of the Isle of Armor expansion. It stands to reason that some of these other Pokémon may be added in future DLC or updates, with many fans excited to make a Mareep and Wooloo sheep combo party.

7 Level 14 - Cyndaquil/Lotad/Seedot/Chimchar/Starly/Pikipek

There are a number of Pokémon that evolve at level 14, two of which are Fire-type starters from different games, Cyndaquil from generation 2, and Chimchar from generation 4. Starly and Pikipek are both Normal/Flying-types, Seedot is a Grass-type, and lastly, Lotad is a Water/Grass-type.

However, at present, only Seedot and Lotad are currently available in Sword and Shield. Seedot is exclusive to Sword and Lotad is exclusive to Shield, resulting in players having to trade to complete their respective Pokédexes.

6 Level 12 - Spewpa

There is only one Pokémon that evolves at level 12 and that is the Bug-type Pokémon called Spewpa. First introduced in Pokémon X and Y, Spewpa is the middle evolution and cocoon form of Scatterbug, and evolves into Vivillon at level 12.

Like other cocoon-type Pokémon, Spewpa isn’t exactly a great choice for Pokémon battles as it is largely limited in moves and will generally only know defensive abilities such as Harden and Protect. Spewpa and its other evolutionary forms are not yet available in Sword and Shield.

5 Level 10 - Metapod/Kakuna/Silcoon/Cascoon/Kricketot/Blipbug

There are a few Bug-type Pokémon that evolve at level 10, four of which are cocoon forms, meaning they are the middle evolutions of other Pokémon. Kricketot and Blipbug are the only Pokémon that evolve for the first time at level 10.

At present, only Metapod and Blipbug are available in Pokémon Sword and Shield, with Metapod evolving into Butterfree at level 10, and Blipbug evolving into Dottler at level 10. Interestingly, Butterfree has a Gigantamax form and with the new Max Soup introduced in the Isle of Armor DLC, you can make any of your Butterfree G-Max capable.

4 Level 9 - Scatterbug

Scatterbug is the only Pokémon to evolve at level 9, evolving into its cocoon form of Spewpa. Scatterbug is a Bug-type Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon X and Y, but as of yet, has not been included in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

However, given that the recent Isle of Armor DLC added more Pokémon from the older generations, it is likely that it may be added at a later date. It may even be added in the next DLC, The Crown Tundra, which is due to release later in the year.

3 Level 7 - Caterpie/Weedle/Wurmple

There are three Bug-type Pokémon who evolve at a fairly low level, with Caterpie, Weedle, and Wurmple all turning into their cocoon-forms at level 7. Wurmple can evolve into one of two different versions, Silcoon or Cascoon, depending on its personality values.

Currently, only Caterpie is available in Sword and Shield, though like many of the other missing Pokémon, it is likely that Weedle and Wurmple will be added at a later date, possibly as an update or as part of some DLC.

2 Level 2 - Special Requirement When Leveled Up Evolutions

There are many Pokémon who evolve when leveled up under certain conditions, meaning that many could potentially evolve at level two if the requirements are met. One example of this is Sneasel, who evolves when holding a Razor Claw during the night. Providing you meet the requirements, a rare candy could potentially evolve your chosen Pokémon at level 2.

Another example is Eevee, who evolves into Sylveon when it knows a Fairy-type move and has a high friendship with the player. So if Eevee is bred with a Fairy-type move and then the player raises friendship via items and camp curry, it could evolve when it first levels up.

1 Level 1 - Stone Pokémon/Special Item Evolutions

There are a few Pokémon who are capable of evolving at level one as they can evolve via evolutionary stones or other means. For example, Eevee can evolve at level one, changing into Flareon with the Fire Stone, Vaporeon with the Water Stone, or Jolteon with the Thunder Stone.

Additionally, some other Pokémon who have special evolution requirements can also be evolved at level one, with one example being Milcery. Milcery is evolved by giving it a particular candy and then spinning your character a certain way, with there being many variations of its evolved form.
