Generation 1 of Pokémon was filled with a bunch of unique creatures that fans could capture for themselves. However despite this there were also a bunch of weak ones that aren’t worth the player’s time and fans should completely stay away from if they are looking to form a strong team of creatures.

This list will go over 10 ridiculously weak Kanto Pokémon that no player wants to be caught dead with. From Caterpie to Voltorb, here are 10 Pokémon from Kanto that aren’t worth considering!

10 Caterpie

Caterpie is an adorable little caterpillar Pokémon and most fans love it because it is one of the first Bug-type creatures in the entire franchise.

Unfortunately despite it being so popular it’s just not very powerful and it’s one of the weakest creatures in the entire Kanto region. Luckily fans can still get something out of one of these if they catch it because it evolves into the powerful and beautiful Butterfree!

9 Zubat

This little bat has been annoying fans for years because of how it constantly pops up in caves all throughout the different Pokémon regions. It is especially present in the Kanto region because that is its main home and where it was first introduced.

Most fans find this creature annoying and it is also incredibly weak because of its small move set and low stats. The only upside to this Pokémon is that it has a powerful evolution so it has a chance to become stronger.

8 Weedle

This is yet another weak Bug-type from the Kanto region and it’s even weaker than Caterpie. The slight upside to this Pokémon is its dual typing and even that isn’t very powerful.

Fans that catch this creature can expect a small and weak move set that consists of mostly string shot and poisoned sting. This is definitely a no go and shouldn’t be captured unless the player is trying to obtain its final evolution, Beedrill.

7 Koffing

This weird Pokémon is basically made out of smoke and that just doesn’t make it very powerful in terms of stats. It does have a strong Poison-typing and can learn a good amount of powerful moves but it’s stats hinder it so much that it’s usually not worth it.

Its design is also extremely weird so there are few Pokémon fans that consider it one of their favorite creatures in the franchise leaving this Pokémon even worse because of both its weaknesses and unpopularity by fans of the franchise.

6 Cubone

This weird creature wears its dead mother’s skull on its head. If that’s not enough to convince fans not to catch one then perhaps how weak it is will put the idea of capturing a Cubone completely off to the player.

It’s not very strong and the only upside to it is it’s typing because there are only a few Ground-type Pokémon within the Kanto region. It is definitely a cool Pokémon but otherwise it’s just not very powerful.

5 Rattata

This rat is hated by almost every Pokémon fan because of how common it is. Fans can catch one of these in almost any Kanto route and they’re sick of seeing it pop up so much.

Unfortunately, this rat is even more disliked by the fan base because it is also extremely weak and puny. All of its stats are low and most of the moves it can learn are very weak so most players tend to avoid catching one of these.

4 Poliwag

Poliwag is one of the weakest Water-types in Kanto. Its evolutions are powerful and unique however that doesn’t make up for the fact that Poliwag itself isn’t strong at all.

There are few creatures in the entire region that are weaker than this little Pokémon and because it’s the first evolution of its line it’s no surprise. Players should only catch one of these if they can’t find any other Water-type Pokémon however that should be unlikely because there are so many swimming around in the ocean.

3 Pidgey

This bird is the weakest Flying-type in Kanto. Like many other Flying-types it’s the first Pokémon in its evolutionary and its the signature bird of the region.

It’s easy for fans to dislike this Pokémon because of its small move set and very low stats so many players decide to catch a Spearow instead of one of these. Luckily its final evolution ended up getting a Mega evolution in generation 6 however that didn’t make up for how weak this little bird is.

2 Voltorb

This Pokémon is the weakest Electric-type in generation one. The main reason for this fact is because of its tendency to self destruct and weak move set that consists almost exclusively of Electric-type moves.

Although this Pokémon has a very unique design there just isn’t much to it in terms of strength and most players decide to catch a Magnemite or Pikachu instead.

1 Magikarp

Every fan knows this creature as the weakest Pokémon in the entire franchise. The reason that this creature is so weak is that the only moves that it can learn are ridiculous low damaging moves such as tackle and its main signature attack, splash.

Splash doesn’t even do damage which is why it is so weak and most fans completely avoid catching one of these creatures because it just isn’t worth it. Unfortunately, it is found in almost every region and is extremely common so a lot of fans end up catching one thinking it will be more powerful and then it just falls flat. But at least its evolution is the terrifying Gyrados!
