With the recent reveal that G4TV is poised to make a comeback in 2021, many fans can’t help but speculate on which fan-favorite programs will be coming with it. While it is too early to tell what will be making a comeback with the network, here are the shows at the top of our most-wanted list!

Attack of the Show!

It is pretty difficult to think or talk about G4TV without Attack of the Show! coming up. This daily program is oft considered the staple of G4TV and one of the reasons the network was able to hang on as long as it did. Hosted by a slew of great personalities including Olivia Munn, Kevin Pereira, Candace Bailey, and Kevin Rose, this live program offered tech and game reviews, hilarious parodies, and pop culture news. It also gave viewers previews of upcoming video games, movies, and other digital media releases. This is definitely at the top of the list of shows we hope resurface with the network!

X-Play

G4TV’s X-Play was another main staple for the company and a favorite for many. This program gave viewers a deep-dive into all things video games. The program, which saw several hosts throughout its span, covered video games, gamers, and the best and newest gear to play with. With sneak peeks of upcoming game releases, unbiased reviews of new titles, and story features on the people behind the scenes in the industry, X-Play was a deep-dive for any fan of video games and a must-have when it comes to G4TV’s return.

Cinematech/Cinematech: Nocturnal Emissions

Cinematech and its spinoff Cinematech: Nocturnal Emissions were two fun and rather quirky programs that came out of G4TV. Cinematech was a program that showcased various cutscenes and trailers from video games. These scenes could be from recent titles, past releases, or even games that had not yet been released. There was no host or narrator for the program, just a mash-up of outros, intros, and cutscenes from many games.

From that program came Cinematech: Nocturnal Emissions which kept the same format as Cinematech but offered cutscenes and clips that contained more mature content. This program placed more emphasis on games outside of the United States and incorporated anime into the mix. These two programs were definitely unlike anything else on television and would definitely be a nice change of pace if G4TV were to resurrect them.

Cheat!

Cheat! was a show clearly made for gamers! This program offered viewers cheat codes, strategies, and other hidden features to their favorite video games. This was one of the original programs launched on G4 and quickly became a favorite amongst viewers. This would be a great program for G4TV to revive because as video games advance, so do their difficulties and a little help is never a bad thing.

Game Makers/Icons

Finally, it would be great to see a revival of sorts of the Icons/Game Makers programming. This documentary series offered a deep-dive into how video games were made. From in-depth looks at video game developing companies to profiles on the individuals who craft and pixelate our favorite characters, this program was a must-see for any gamer. With this show ending in 2007, it would be fascinating to see a deep-dive into a major studio and see how some of these fantastic titles are made today!

Did your favorite show make our list? What is it you want to see come out of G4TV’s relaunch? No matter what G4 has in store, you can bet it is going to be epic!
