The Nintendo Switch version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has finally received the delayed update with a Randomizer mode and an extra playable character.

The Kickstarter project for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night had several stretch goals that promised post-release content for the game. One of the early stretch goals was for an extra playable character, in the form of a warrior named Zangetsu. The player encounters Zangetsu during one of the boss battles in the story mode of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. One of the other promised updates was a roguelike mode, but this was scrapped due to issues with the game engine. The roguelike mode has been replaced with a Randomizer, which lets the player select specific rules for a new game going in, such as changing what items that come from chests.

The Randomizer/Zangetsu update is already available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but the patch for the Switch version was delayed until later in May. The content update is now live for the Switch version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and can be downloaded by updating the game through the game’s icon on the Switch’s menu.
