Atlus has confirmed that the upcoming Catherine: Full Body demo for the Nintendo Switch will be released on June 11 in Japan.
The demo will contain the first two full days of the game, including all the relevant cutscenes and puzzles available on those days. The game difficulty will be automatically set to “Safety” (aka, the easiest and most forgiving difficulty option the game has to offer) to allow everyone to progress through the demo without worry, even if they’re unfamiliar with Catherine’s unique block puzzles. Any progress made in the demo will not transfer over to the full game when it is officially released, so players will still have to purchase the game when it officially releases and play through those two days once again.
Atlus has only confirmed a Japanese release of the demo. No official word yet on whether or not an English version of the demo will be available before the game’s official Western release.
Previously, Atlus confirmed that the Nintendo Switch release of Catherine: Full Body will contain exclusive content unavailable to PlayStation 4 and Vita players; this includes three new “Ideal Voices” (a feature that allows the player to change the voice of Catherine to fit their preference) and formerly DLC-bound content (including a feature that allows players to play as Persona 5’s Joker in some puzzles) to be available automatically to players who buy the Switch version.
Catherine: Full Body, an enhanced remake of Atlus’ 2012 game Catherine, tells the story of Vincent Brooks, a 32-year-old man who finds himself in a slump with his long-time girlfriend, Katherine. One morning, he wakes up next to the beautiful (and similarly named) Catherine and finds himself torn between the two girls. There’s also Rin, short for Qatherine, another girl who Vincent aids and helps get a job at his local bar. As he navigates his relationship between Katherine, Catherine, and Rin, he finds himself plagued with horrific nightmares where he must escape a crumbling platform of boxes each night to escape a deadly fate.
Catherine: Full Body will be released for the Nintendo Switch in Japan on July 2 and in the West on July 7. It was released last September 2019 for the PlayStation 4.
