Long-time tabletop roleplaying game content creator Pinnacle Entertainment Group recently herded in its newest Kickstarter campaign for Blood Drive: A Deadlands Booster. Launched with a $3,000 goal, the project is moseying along at over $42,700 with 13 days left to go.
Earlier in April 2020, Pinnacle successfully funded Deadlands: The Weird West TTRPG, bringing this award-winning horror western RPG to the latest version of the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition. Blood Drive is a support product for the core Deadlands Savage Worlds system, derived from the original linked three-PDF adventure for Deadlands Reloaded written by John “Night Train” Goff. Those adventures were sold in PDF format only, and now they’re being printed in a full-color hardcover edition updated with expanded material, new maps, and new art.
According to the Kickstarter notes, this “twisted tale takes a posse of hard-riding drovers and their Texas Longhorns from the rolling hills of Texas through swollen streams in Colorado, the mountain passes of New Mexico, the haunted prairies of Wyoming, and more!” As foreshadowed by the title Blood Drive, the adventure turns into the cattle drive from Hell, or to Hell, and hopefully back.
Blood Drive has four reward tiers available from $25 to $60, which will get you PDF, VTT, and print versions of the Blood Drive Campaign Book and the accompanying Booster items. Those items include Archetype Cards (pre-gen character sheets from the original Deadlands Kickstarter), three sheets of Deadlands Pawns (a selection of punchboard NPCs, critters, and scatter terrain), and six Infernal Device Cards (gadgets and gizmos fueled by ghost rock). Map Pack 3: End of the Line, and Map Pack 4: Ambush Pass are also included, providing large, 30" x 24" double-sided laminated maps with one-inch grids to play on, and featuring “a train station, corner saloon, and other classic western buildings”, and wilderness terrain, respectively.
In case you missed the Deadlands: The Weird West Kickstarter, you can buy in through the still-open pledge manager. You can also check out the free Deadlands Savage Worlds Test Drive rules that include pre-gen characters, power cards, combat rules, and the Blood on the Range starter adventure.
