Another classic map is heading to Call of Duty Mobile, this time with Meltdown being added to the usual rotation of offerings. The map was a favorite in Call of Duty: Black Ops II and should be a hit among new and veteran players of the mobile game.

For those that have not experience the map before, Meltdown takes players to fight around a power plant. It is a relatively large map and makes is great for players who love to explore new and unexpected routes to flank the enemy team. The map is great fun for Snipers, but only against inexperienced players since there is cover almost everywhere.

Meltdown will also be a welcome addition to the map rotation simply due to the polarizing reception to Cage, the last map added to the game. Instead of a large, open space to explore and engage in long fire fights, Cage offers a simplistic three-lane layout in a tiny, almost claustrophobic space, demanding players rush from space to space. Although a well-made map, the forced speed at which combat runs is not for everyone, whereas Meltdown is a far more “relaxed” deathmatch experience, if such a thing can exist.

The new map is only one part of the new update, and some players will be more excited to learn that a new 2v2 Gunfight mode has been added. The mode is like what exists in Modern Warfare but with the potential for strategic plays as two players must work together to take out an opposing team in a small space.

The process is quick and straightforward, with players selecting a loadout and each team being dropped on opposite ends of a small map. The goal is simple: defeat the opposing pair of players within a 40 second time limit, or following the end of time, capture the flag in the middle of the map and defend it for a full three seconds. If neither of these conditions are met, the team with the most health wins.

2v2 Gunfights are one of the best ways for players to improve their skills in the game, as small maps and a short timer mean that the action happens right away. Diving into this mode often is like drilling in any sport, and the skills will transfer over for virtually all modes in the game.

Best of luck to all players as they explore the new Meltdown map and join up with a friend to dominate the competition in 2v2 Gunfights!
