The Curious Case of the Stolen Pets has been widely received as a charming virtual reality puzzler, and new content is headed to the Oculus Quest. Just in time for the holidays, The Curious Case of the Stolen Pets is receiving its Holiday Gifts Update, which includes some Santa content goodness.
Developer Fast Travel Games is adding a limited-time update to its puzzling VR title. Players will be tasked with helping Grandpa Santa Claus (as Santa makes yet another video game appearance) find his lost presents. If players can manage to find the hidden items and return them, they will be rewarded with an in-game reward. The update will last until January 10, 2021.
According to James Hunt, Creative Lead for The Curious Case of the Stolen Pets, the update is the same one that was released this time last year. But with The Curious Case of the Stolen Pets reviewed very well after releasing late last year, many new players have jumped on board and haven’t had the opportunity to try the update/event, so this is why Fast Travel Games is releasing it again. The same rewards are available this time as well, meaning someone who enjoyed the content last year can do so again, but the reward is not new.
VR gaming has had a nice renaissance in 2020, with Half-Life: Alyx kicking off the year in incredible fashion. While The Curious Case of the Stolen Pets came out last year, many of the players who have tried the game didn’t do so until 2020. Continued support, new experiences, and fun games will help VR gaming continue to grow.
The Curious Case of the Stolen Pets Holiday Gifts Update is out now on Oculus Quest.
