Those that pre-order The Division 2 are able to get their hands on the Lullaby, an exotic shotgun that gives players an edge over enemies in the early portions of the game. However, the Lullaby eventually becomes useless as The Division 2 players acquire better weaponry, but some may want to upgrade it so that it stays viable in the endgame.
Before players can upgrade the Lullaby in The Division 2, they will need to reach level 30. There are ways to level up to 30 fast, but players may want to focus on wrapping up story missions and things before they resort to grinding levels and the like. Once they hit level 30, Division 2 players can still improve their character by raising their gear score, which takes into account the quality of gear that they have equipped.
Level 30 players can upgrade their weapons at the crafting station in the Base of Operations. Each weapon needs certain components to be upgraded, so players will have to collect the necessary items if they hope to upgrade the Lullaby and keep it a decent weapon to have in their inventory for the endgame content.
Additionally, there is an item in The Division 2 called Lullaby Upgrade - Exotic. This item can be applied to a shotgun called Sweet Dreams that will make it resemble the Lullaby. Some Division 2 players mistakenly believe that this item itself is what upgrades the Lullaby, which is understandable given its misleading name.
In The Division 2 official forums, some have expressed frustration that the pre-order exotic shotgun is only useful for a short time until players can upgrade it at level 30. However, it seems like this would be necessary to make the game better balanced, especially when players enter the Dark Zone PvP area. It wouldn’t be fair for those that pre-order to have an advantage over those that wait to purchase the game on launch day.
The Division 2 has already been criticized a bit for allowing players to pay for advantages, like early access. Those that buy the Gold or Ultimate Editions of the game can already start their adventures in The Division 2, as long as they’re willing to pay a bit more than those who pick up the standard version.
The Division 2 is launches on March 15 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
