There is a lot of excitement surrounding the addition of raids in The Division 2. And thanks to dataminers looking into the game’s files, there’s a detailed look at what the first raid will contain. Not much was known about the raid before this, just that its name has been officially revealed as Operation Dark Hours, and the raid is an eight-player activity. Spoilers follow.

According to user kevindavid40 on The Division subreddit, the raid looks to start at the Ronald Reagan airport, which does appear to line up with the quick glances of the raid Ubisoft shared in a trailer detailing the game’s first year of content. Within the game files, it lists Arlington Island as a destination with the Arlington Memorial Bridge as an access point on the map. It is looking like players will begin the raid at the airport, move across the bridge, and end at Arlington.

The raid’s objectives were also datamined; however, there was no information as to how these will appear chronologically:

  • Survive the assault on the bridge Find the stolen GPS coordinates Protect the named agent on your team Confirm the kill of 2nd hand Lieutenant Rendezvous with your team Survive the blackout attack Find the activation code Extract your team to safety Split teams and flank the target Stop the convoy from leaving the runway Takeout bombarders from high ground

There are also four trophies/achievements attached to the raid, which may also give a better idea of the scope of the raid and its encounters:

  • Relentless: Make it through the bridge in one hour or less Extreme Measures: Have your most kills with Signature weapons Reminder of Me: Kill any of the Hunters who killed you before Gone Baby Gone: In less than 2 minutes flee from Interceptors

In addition to the raid itself, there also appears to be a mission, called Nighthawk, that will be unlocked once the raid is completed. This sounds similar to what happened in Destiny 2 when players completed the Last Wish raid and unlocked a new mission and questline that all players could access. However, players will likely need to wait and see exactly how this plays out after the raid is released and conquered.

Speaking of releases, the release date of Operation Dark Hours raid is unknown, but this will be the first of multiple raids in The Division 2’s first year. Players are hopeful this will meet their expectations of a raid experience, as opposed to the Incursions in The Division, which were less involved.

The Division 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
