Pre-loading for the open beta of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is live right now, and there’s no doubt that plenty of would-be Agents are getting ready for the days ahead to get a feel for Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s next entry in the action-RPG series. In order to help set the tone for this weekend’s public testing phase, the publisher and developer have now put out a new trailer that highlights what it will be like in the Dark Zone, which is the game’s PvP arena.

The Division 2’s Dark Zone will be a little bit different to the franchise’s previous installment, as Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have split the PvP area up into three distinct locations this time around instead of there being one centralized spot on the map. These three PvP areas consist of eastern, western, and southern sectors of Washington D.C., and each Dark Zone is set to support up to 12 players per session.

The latest trailer for The Division 2 gives the aesthetics for each of the Dark Zone areas their own time to shine, with Dark Zone East being represented as having the looks of a downtown city, Dark Zone West showing a more suburban layout, and Dark Zone South containing more flora and fauna. What’s more is that the footage touches on how players can go Rogue in the Dark Zone in order to chase after a special set of incentives and rewards.

Each of the DZ areas in The Division 2 contain loot caches and special events tied to Rogue gameplay, as breaking into a locked loot chest without a Dark Zone key and looting dead players will cause one to go Rogue for a certain amount of time. Those who choose to take this route in the DZ will be privy to special Rogue events that lets them acquire credits and resources for unique vendors in the Dark Zone.

When The Division 2’s open beta begins tomorrow, players should eventually have the opportunity to experience the Dark Zone East during the test in order to prepare them for all three of the PvP areas that are to come in the final version of the release. With this being the case, it will be interesting to see just how many Agents are able to hold their own in the DZ this weekend, and whether or not the loot achieved from successfully going Rogue will be worth it in the long run.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is scheduled to launch on March 15, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
