For almost a year, PC gamers have had the opportunity to try out upcoming updates for Tom Clancy’s The Division via a Public Test Server, or PTS. Now, console gamers are finally getting in on The Division’s PTS action as invitations have started going out to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers in Europe.

As Massive Entertainment revealed on Twitter, the developer will also be sending invites to console gamers in North, Central, and South America tomorrow. Once console gamers receive their invite, they will be able to download The Division’s console PTS client on July 11th and test the 1.7 update starting July 13th.

It’s worth noting that unlike the PC PTS, there is a limit to how many console gamers will be a part of The Division PTS, and those spots have already been decided. Only 20,000 console gamers (10,000 per platform) will get a chance to test out the upcoming patch and provide feedback to the developers about needed adjustments prior to the patch’s full public release later this summer.

The console gamers who are a part of the PTS can expect to test out a few of the new features planned for The Division with the 1.7 update, including Classified Gear and Global Events. Hopefully Massive will be able to avoid any crippling issues with the console PTS that plagued the PC PTS last week that allowed gamers to recalibrate their gear to comically powerful levels.

Granted, that’s essentially what the PTS is for: to test out and find issues within the patch so the developer can make corrections before rolling out 1.7 to everyone. With that in mind, Massive is asking those who participate in the console PTS to take the time needed to test each facet of the game and provide feedback of their experience. Otherwise, the developer could miss some potentially game-breaking bugs that hamper the experience for everyone later this summer.

With the limited number of spots available for The Division’s console PTS, there are unsurprisingly many gamers discouraged they weren’t chosen. Fortunately, it sounds like Massive is planning to conduct another console PTS for the 1.8 update, which is scheduled to arrive later this year. That patch will focus more heavily on new content and features, so it’s something for The Division fans to look forward to.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
