Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s online shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division gets a brand new batch of gear sets, courtesy of the game’s much-wanted 1.2 update.
Even though The Division has a whopping 9.5 million registered users, the MMO shooter has received its fair share of criticism since release. Now, publisher Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment are getting prepped to launch the game’s 1.2 update. Although the game’s next update will include such high-profile features as a new Incursion named Clear Sky, it has also been discovered that update 1.2 will also launch some new gear sets.
These gear sets were revealed during the game’s Twitch stream discussion of the update. Massive walked viewers through the new The Division gear sets one by one, as well as explaining exactly how each gear set would function. Opening with Final Measure, this particular set was described as being the most tank-like of all of the new sets becoming available, bringing with it 50% exotic damage resilience.
After that, the Twitch stream showcased Hunter’s Faith, which is framed around long-range attacks. The set offers up 20% Marksman critical hit damage, as well as granting the player armor whenever an enemy is hit. Finally, the stream offered up information on Lone Star, which improves LMG and shotgun damage and ammo capacity, and Predator’s Mark, which improves assault rifle and pistol damage and adds bleed damage.
Here is a full rundown of all the new gear sets that will be arriving with the game’s update:
Update 1.2 is set to bring plenty of additional features to The Division. The main draw will most likely be Clear Sky, a new Incursion that has been showcased in the update’s pre-release trailers. However, there will also be some tweaks to other aspects of the game, and it’s perhaps no surprise to see that the loot drop system is being given a bit of a revamp, particularly for the Dark Zone.
Final Measure:
50% Exotic Damage Resilience (2)
15% Protection From Elites (3)
When damaging a hostile with a grenade, gain the defuse buff. When in range of a hostile grenade, the buff is consumed and defuses the grenade as well as gives you a grenade (4)
Hunter’s Faith:
20% Marksman Rifle Critical Hit Damage (2)
20% Damage to Elites (3)
Hitting an enemy with a bullet grants you temporary armor. The further your shot, the more armor. The armor disappears after one bullet hits you. (4)
Lone Star:
100% Ammo Capacity (2)
1000 LMG Damage & 1000 Shotgun Damage (3)
When the weapon is holstered, it regains full ammo. (4)
Predator’s Mark:
20% Optimal Range (2)
800 Assault Rifle Damage & 700 Pistol Damage (3)
Hit 10 shots without switching target to make the target bleed for 100% of damage already done by those bullets. (4)
Those are not the only changes incoming, however. Massive is also making an extensive list of other update 1.2 amendments, including an increase to the Phoenix Credit cap and nerfing the Brutal talent. Unfortunately for some users, update 1.2 is not going to increase The Division’s stash size, explaining that an increase would put tremendous pressure on the game’s servers.
Both Massive and Ubisoft will be hoping that this new update manages to be a success, and with good reason. Although The Division has a huge registered user base, the actual number of PC users has dropped by a massive 81 percent. Whether or not this update manages to solidify those who are still playing the game, or even manages to draw players back to the title, remains to be seen.
The Division’s update 1.2 is set to arrive on May 24, 2016.
