The Elder Scrolls Online has finally come to Stadia, after a long wait by fans who, for a long time, only knew it was lined up for release in 2020. It is also the new platform’s first streaming MMO, complete with crossplay integration, which means you’ll be able to switch between your PC and Stadia at will. There are currently no plans for Stadia/console crossplay, as Stadia’s version runs on PC servers.
If you’re a Stadia Pro subscriber, you can grab the game’s Standard Edition for free until July 16th and it’s yours to keep for as long as you stay a subscriber. Even if you don’t have Pro access, the first month is free anyway, which means that for at least the next 30 days, anyone can play ESO for free.
It’s important to note that the Standard Edition does not include the recently launched Greymoor expansion, which is considered a whole new game in itself, complete with a standalone story. Still, those who want to give the MMO a go through Stadia have the perfect opportunity to do so, and later decide whether Greymoor is something they want to add to their library or not.
Additionally, both Stadia Pro subscribers and regular users will have some discounts available this week in Stadia’s store. This means, for example, that the former can pick up Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey Season Pass for $20 USD, while the latter can get the same game’s Ultimate Edition for $60 USD. It’s not free, but hey - it’s a good game.
