The world of Cyberpunk 2077,  similar to the Witcher 3 in some ways, is filled to the brim with the bright lights of Night City, unique characters and a gripping narrative with a lot going on. When the game is working properly, CD Projekt Red provides gamers with one of the best action RPGs in recent years and part of that has to do with how the game handles boss fights in the game.

What makes the bosses of this game unique is that some of them can be avoided entirely, meaning that fulfilling the right conditions can mean avoiding a difficult fight. But should the player feel the need to take on these hard fights on themselves, then it is best to know which fights are the hardest.

10 Placide

Placide makes it from the get-go that he is not a very likeable guy. From treating V with some unwarranted suspicion to leaving him to die, it is easy to see why most probably chose to side against him and the Voodoo Boys.

While the fight against him is not so hard, the player has to fight through several Voodoo Boys members before meeting Placide at the exit. He wields a shotgun so avoid getting too close to him and keep a good distance away from him. Be sure to have plenty of healing items on hand to heal up from fighting the Voodoo Boys.

9 Woodman

While main character V is searching for Evelyn in the Automatic Love mission, he will eventually find himself meeting the boss of the club he is in, Oswald Forrest a.k.a. Woodman.

V is without their weapons here and should V refuse his offer, a fight with him will trigger. What makes it so hard is that as Woodman’s health is nearly depleted, he will pull out a gun. This will be the kiss of death should V fight unarmed. Thankfully a katana can be grabbed from a nearby restricted area that makes it easier. But missing this can really screw the player over.

8 Matilda K. Rose/ Sasquatch

Better known as Sasquatch, her giant and muscled appearance is what gives her this nickname. The fight is optional and can be found during the I Walk The Line mission outside of the theater in the mall.

Melee and close-quarters combat is a huge no-no since this is where Rose is at her strongest. Be sure to have plenty of ammo on hand since ranged combat is a must here. Lacking this will force the player into a tough close-quarters fight with an absolute monster of a human being.

7 Royce

This fight can be skipped should V and their good pal Jackie Wells sneak past him, but if they don’t, then be prepared. This is a book that can definitely be judged by its cover.

Royce uses a mech suit that has a shield for defense against the player’s attacks and rockets to keep them back. He does have a weak point on his back so it is best to get as close as possible and strike it with a shotgun when the shield is dropped. Make use of the cover in the room he is in to get out of the fight in one piece.

6 Anna Nox

Though she can be found pretty early into the game, but players will want to wait until they get more experience and actually fighting her will make it easy to see why.

A cyberspycho that can move extremely fast, wields manta blades and resides within a small warehouse. Not a good combination for long-range shooting. The player has to keep moving to keep the Nox from slicing into their armor and draining their health rapidly. Be sure to do this and focus on close-quarters combat.

5 Chase Coley

The Cyperpsychos of the game are optional boss fights spread throughout Night City that drop some neat loot when they are defeated.

The toughest of these fights is Chase Coley who, much like Royce, pilots a mech suit to fight V. The suit is question makes him immune to most attacks and the area he is fought in is extremely crowded. Players will have to think quickly and creatively to take this psycho down.

4 Adam Smasher

An intimidating presence when the player first sees him, Smasher played hands in making both V’s and Johnny Silverhand’s lives a living hell and the fight against him is satisfying if not hard at the end of the Totalimmortal ending path.

V’s cyberhack abilities are taken away for the fight, making the player have to adapt to some conventional means to taking Smasher down. He shoots rockets at the player which can be dodged and has ninjas attack the player, which can be taken down easily with grenades. Focus on crowd control then turn it to Smasher to finish him off for good.

3 Sandayu Oda

A fight that can be seen coming a mile away. What is not predictable though is how tough the fight against Oda is.

He is super fast and has perhaps the most varied move set of any boss in the game. He has a mask that easily helps him dodge bullets, making all but tech weapons basically useless against him. The mask can be destroyed but only microscopically makes the fight easier. Be ready for anything in this fight.

2 Razor

The Beat On The Brat side quest sees V go around Night City fighting a variety of unique brawlers in fist fights. The final boss of the quest sees V fight Razor in a boxing ring with only melee weapons at their disposal.

He moves quick and it is best to be patient and parry his blows. Eventually he will charge with a superman punch in which he will be vulnerable as he lunges forward. Timing and patience will help V take this guy down.

1 Rhino

Rhino may not be the final boss of the aforementioned Beat On The Brat questline. But she could be the absolute hardest of these fights.

Players are forced to fight with only their fists, there is no katana lying like with Woodman. Rhino’s beefy appearance is not just for show as she will charge at the player before they can even register what happened. Having select melee perks to help build the ultimate melee build will make this fight easier but only barely. Lacking the variety of means to take them down that other fights have make winning this fight a true achievement.
