This week The Humble Voxatron Debut launched and it provided those who donated early access to the Voxatron alpha, a very cool looking indie title that looks very similar to 3D Dot Game Heroes and Minecraft. Today two more titles were added to this Humble Indie Bundle, Blocks That Matter and The Binding of Issac. Fans of indie games are encouraged to check this out.
The Humble Indie Bundles come around every so often to harness the collective power of gamers worldwide to raise money for the Child’s Play Charity and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. This is how it works: gamers can pay what they want for the Voxatron alpha, however if they pay above the average price — USD $4.45 at the moment — they also get the two additional games for free.
When people donate they can allocate how much of their cash goes to the developers and the Child’s Play charity. One awesome thing about these Humble Bundles is that people who donate tend to get much more than they pay for. This was the case when people who purchased the Humble Indie Bundle 2 and got the first bundle free. Those who donated early already received The Binding of Issac and Blocks That Matter for free, and it’s very likely that a few more games may be added before this charity drive ends.

As stated before those who donate will get into the Voxatron alpha and any subsequent updates. Voxatron is a voxel-based platformer that at first glance looks like a Minecraft clone. Voxatron is a challenging platform shooter that will put gamers skills to the test with twenty difficult levels, and includes a level editor where players can build and upload their creations to the rest of the Voxatron community.
The Binding of Issac was created by Super Meat Boy co-creator Edmund McMillen. This game plays like an old-school Zelda title that allows players to explore dungeons while acquiring upgrades in an action-RPG fashion. Fans of McMilen’s work on Super Meat Boy should definitely take a closer look.
Lastly, there’s Blocks That Matter from developer Swing Swing Submarine. This is a side-scrolling platform adventure that’s a mix between Minecraft and Tetris. In the game players take control of a robot that can mine blocks and then use them as to access difficult areas, or build Tetris pieces that can clear out other blocks to open the way to new areas.
The Humble Voxatron Debut will continue on for about 12 more days, and gamers who are interested should go over to the Humble Bundle site sooner than later. These games are cross-platform across Linux, Mac and PC.
