Released in June, Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part II almost has as many collectibles as it does infected quietly clicking off in the shadows. Chapter 1’s fourth part features Ellie and Dina making their way through Jackson and has a total of 12 collectibles to read sketch or loot.
This section will cover all of the collectibles found in this chapter including six artifacts, two trading cards to collect, two more of Ellie’s thoughts to add to her journal, one safe, and the first of many workbenches found throughout Jackson County and Seattle.
12 Journal Entry 1/2
In the opening moments of the chapter, Ellie and Dina make their way through a small crack in the wall and stumble onto a visually satisfying scene triggering a brief cutscene that highlights the two’s close relationship.
Following a short conversation between the pair, head back towards the railing, and Ellie will whip out her notebook for a quick sketch overlooking the town.
11 Artifact 1/6
Shortly after leaving, the duo will find themselves traveling via horseback. Jump off the horse and in between several destroyed houses as the player will make their way to the house on the left, across from the trailer.
Climbing up the stairs on the right side of the halfway destroyed home, and a note is written out to Santa in the nightstand on the right side of the poorly made bed can be found.
10 Trading Card 1/2
Directly across the street from the house above, the first of two collectible cards found in this chapter can be found hiding upstairs in a bedroom.
Jump onto the roof of the snow-covered pick-up truck and then onto the roof of the house to the right of the horse. Once inside, to the left on a bookshelf is the Terreracter trading card.
9 Artifact 2/6
A short horse-ride later, the duo will discover a torn-apart moose carcass and oddly decide to investigate the area. After clearing out a couple of areas filled with infected, Dina and Ellie will come across a semi-truck that will lead to a set of stairs leading to a dark corridor.
On the right is a small gap where the player will need to squeeze between a stack of boxes and collect an apology note paired with some supplements for Ellie to enjoy.
8 Artifact 3/6
While in the offices above Greenplace Market, to the right of the employee of the month plaque there will be a closed door. Enter this area to find the third note on top of a desk next to a safe.
The note acts as the third artifact during this chapter and a clue to unlocking the safe located to the left of the desk. The hint reads that the “Combo is the date my good boy got Employee of the Month.”
7 Safe
While reading up on all of the latest employees of the month success stories, a past winner may stand out from the rest – a dog winning this prestigious award in July 2013.
Using that information, head back over to the safe and enter this date to crack the code and collect the rewards.
6 Artifact 4/6
Dina and Ellie will hop back onto their horses while a teary-eyed Roach watches from some nearby shrubs and the two will make their way to a nearby library where the fourth artifact awaits.
Smash the window and climb inside the Copy Center. Once attempting to walk through the door, Ellie will notice a Firefly pendant hanging from the board and will automatically pick it up.
5 Journal Entry 2/2
As the player walks out through the door out of the Copy Center leading to the children’s library, to the right of the doorway sitting on a shelf is a stuffed giraffe begging to be sketched.
Simply notice the toy for Ellie to add to her journal, the second and last entry in this chapter. While the item does stand out, this one is easily missable if a player isn’t paying attention.
4 Trading Card 2/2
Once finished sketching, directly opposite the giraffe is a supply closet. Inside on a table to the right is where the second and final trading card of this chapter, Laurent Foucault, can be found and added to Ellie’s growing collection.
There is nothing else in the supply closet, so once Ellie collects the card, it is time to move on.
3 Artifact 5/6
After leaving the supply closet, Ellie and Dina will immediately head into a small children’s library.
On the other side of the children’s library, look around the room for a dartboard hanging up on the wall. Directly underneath the board is a desk with an old picture of Tommy and Eugene sitting on top. Collectibles came in quick succession in this area.
2 Artifact 6/6
Ellie won’t need to travel far to collect the sixth and final artifact in this chapter as it’s in the same room as the photo of Tommy and Eugene. The last artifact is located across from the table where the picture of the two friends was found.
To the right of the doorway leading out, on the left side of the bed in the nightstand, Ellie will be able to find a note to Eugene written by his wife begging him to return home.
1 Workbench
The final collectible of the chapter is directly outside the children’s library and is where Ellie will be introduced to the first of many crafting benches.
Unable to disable her collection of weapons, Ellie will have to find the power supply first located directly in front of the bench. Once the generator has been started, turn around and walk up to the bench to start dissecting some guns.
