Lev is a character that was present in The Last of Us Part 2 during the second half of the game, and he had some of the best development that players have seen in the franchise to date among other characters such as Ellie and Owen. Lev has had to endure many hardships by being born into the Seraphites cult, and he has been persistent in the face of opposition and abuse.
There are things that are easy to miss about Lev because they are briefly mentioned in dialogue or not easy to notice throughout the game. Lev is a fascinating character, and hopefully, he will show up in The Last of Us Part 3 as well.
10 Lev Was Assigned To Be The Wife Of An Elder
Lev has had to endure an unfortunate amount of abuse from the Seraphites ever since he was a young child; however, it became much worse when he was assigned to be the wife of an elder.
Lev was so upset by this decision that he decided to shave his head and finally start going by the name Lev. This is the situation that made Lev realize that he had to live his life the way that he felt was right, regardless of the consequences from the Seraphites.
9 Lev Respects The Prophet
Regardless of the fact that Lev seems to have a disdain for Seraphites and other people from the cult, he has a lot of respect for their original leader, the Prophet.
Lev can even be seen praying to the Prophet, which proves that he does have some admiration for her and even feels that some of her teachings may have been pointing people in the right direction. Luckily, it seems that the Prophet is not nearly as bad when compared to other Seraphites.
8 Lev Is Terrified Of Dogs
Lev is absolutely terrified of dogs, which is quite strange, considering that he has to fight many stronger enemies throughout the game.
Lev is seen being afraid of Owen’s dog specifically, and it makes fans question why such a brave boy would be scared of a non-threatening creature. It is possible that Lev has endured some sort of traumatic event involving a dog in the past. This fact about Lev adds some extra character to his personality.
7 Lev Is Extremely Acrobatic
Lev is one of most acrobatic characters that fans have gotten to experience in the franchise, and this can be seen during the game when he is jumping around the pillars inside of skyscrapers.
Abby even comments on how agile Lev is, and it is also worth noting that he doesn’t seem to be afraid of heights while traversing the sky bridge. It is unclear how Lev learned all of these acrobatic movements; however, it is possible that just growing up in such a world forced him to learn these talents.
6 Lev Is Much More Compassionate Than Those Around Him
Compared to Abby and other characters in The Last of Us Part 2, Lev is one of the most compassionate characters in the entire game.
Lev convinced Abby to Spare Dina and Ellie, and that is quite a notable act considering that Lev had also been through a lot of trauma in the past few hours. Lev seems to have a maturity that is much wiser than he should be at his age, which is one of his best strengths.
5 Lev Is Only 13 Years Old
It may seem that Lev is around 16 years old; however, he’s actually only 13 years old during the events of the game.
As previously mentioned, Lev is very mature and is much wiser than he should be at his age. As such, it is surprising that Lev is only 13 years old, and most players assume that he is at least a few years older than he actually is, which is why most players aren’t aware of his actual age.
4 Lev Is Well-Versed In Seraphite Technology
Seraphite technology is quite interesting, and although it isn’t on par with the technology that most humans use in the post-apocalyptic world, they do have some interesting tactics such as the sky bridge. Lev has a few lines of dialogue during the skyscraper level, which reveal his knowledge about Seraphite technology, although they are short and brief.
Lev seems to know all about this technology, which is strange because he is so young, and he was never trained as a warrior, which means that he shouldn’t realistically know about all of their battle tactics. It’s easy to miss that Lev has a strange knowledge of technology that he likely has never used.
3 Lev Calls Infected “Demons”
Lev refers to the infected as “Demons” which is common among people belonging to the Seraphite cult. The Seraphites seem to believe that the infected are actually demons that are purposefully sent to kill them.
Even though Lev doesn’t have much relation to the Seraphites anymore, he still chooses to use the term “Demons” after leaving their cult, which is very peculiar.
2 Lev Only Uses A Bow
For most of the game, Lev never picks up another weapon other than his bow. The reason that this is so strange is because Lev doesn’t agree with the Seraphites on many things, and as such, he shouldn’t have any issue using regular technology such as guns. Some players may not have noticed that Lev doesn’t use other weapons.
Lev doesn’t seem to like technology at all, which may be a result of his upbringing with the Seraphites. Perhaps Lev will grow to use guns more in the future if he is present in a future TheLast of Us game.
1 Lev Loves Sharks
Although Lev doesn’t like dogs very much, he actually has quite an affinity for sharks. Lev loves sharks, and it is his favorite aquatic animal.
Lev’s affinity for sharks is revealed by Yara when she is trying to pick out a gift to give to Lev. It is likely that Lev likes sharks as much as he does because they are strong-willed, similar to him and his sister during the game when they have to endure many hardships.
