Update: As per Sony’s request, we have removed leaked images from the game.
In what might be one of the biggest video game leaks in history, The Last Of Us Part II has been leaked onto YouTube. This isn’t a bit of gameplay, or a cutscene or two.
It is, in fact, the entire game.
Yesterday evening, a YouTube account began uploading a collection of gameplay snippets. As the clips began to make the social media rounds, it became clear that the account was intent on leaking the whole game to the public.
By the time Sony took the videos down, the damage was already done. At press time, what is likely the whole plot for one of 2020’s biggest games is now public knowledge - mere weeks after Naughty Dog announced an indefinite hiatus.
Where this leaves Naughty Dog is anyone’s guess, really. Do they release the game digitally sooner, just to come out on top of this whole thing? Or is it back to the drawing board for the hotly-anticipated game, and we see a longer delay well into the PlayStation 5’s life cycle? At this point, there’s just no way of knowing.
The Last of Us Part II is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4.
