The story trailer for The Last Of Us Part II has finally dropped, giving a glimpse into what Ellie’s world has turned into since the first installment. The sequel to the beloved Playstation saga The Last Of Us will officially be released on June 19th, 2020.
This trailer comes after developer Naughty Dog teased its release on their Twitter account yesterday. As we near the game’s release date, this trailer is potentially the last one before the game fully drops.
The story trailer, released on Playstation Europe’s YouTube channel, reunites The Last Of Us fans with protagonist Ellie as she takes on a new adventure. The trailer begins with Joel’s voice, telling Ellie that he wishes things could be different as action scenes clue viewers in to what they’ll experience in the game. Breathtaking views of wild landscapes and ruined cities serve as a reminder of the difficult road so far.
The trailer ends by confirming The Last Of Us Part II’s release date - June 19th, 2020. Originally set to release in May, the game was postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic. Much of the game was leaked during that postponement, which further halted production. It was later revealed that neither Sony nor Naughty Dog were behind the leak.
Join Ellie, Joel, and whoever they meet along the way in The Last Of Us Part II this summer, available only on Playstation 4.
