Sony has just announced that it will be holding a “State of Play” stream dedicated entirely to The Last of Us Part II this week. Running on May 27, 2020, at 1 pm PST, the stream will be roughly 20 minutes long and will go over the specifics of its gameplay and story. Director Neil Druckmann will be walking players through what they can expect from this sequel to 2013’s hit PS3 survival game.
As with the last Ghost of Tsushima stream, this video will not feature any news about the PlayStation 5 or future plans. It will simply be Naughty Dog’s last hurray for current-gen hardware and nothing else. To sweeten the pot, around eight minutes of “never before seen” footage will be premiered, which should get fans ready for the June 19 release date.
You can catch the stream over on Sony’s Twitch or YouTube channels. Simply log on shortly before the premiere time and you’ll be all set to experience this new footage. I’m not really sure what else is left to discuss with The Last of Us Part II, but it’s always nice to get a deep dive before making a purchase.
Both this and Ghost of Tsushima are primed to be the swan songs for the PS4. That’s a hell of a one-two punch to go out with.
