Ever since its release in November of 2019, The Mandalorian has been a resounding success. The Mandalorian’s first episode was released at the same time Disney launched its streaming platform and the world immediately fell head over heels with Baby Yoda.
In early March, The Mandalorian cinematographer Baz Idoine confirmed that the second season of the series has finished filming. Now, it has been revealed the renowned film directors Robert Rodriguez and Peyton Reed have directed episodes of season two of The Mandalorian. In a tweet posted by Rodiguez, who is known for films such as Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn, he revealed that he had the “very rare privilege of directing the best star in the universe,” while posting a picture of himself and a puppet of The Child, who is also known as Baby Yoda.
On the other hand, Reed, whose famous works include Ant-Man, Bring It On, and its sequels, simply posted a shot of his director’s chair with a Din Djarin helmet sitting on it. Additionally, the second season of The Mandalorian is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in October of 2020. It is currently unknown whether the coronavirus pandemic will have an effect on The Mandalorian’s schedule, but there is a strong possibility that the show will release as planned given that filming was completed before the worldwide lockdown. As for what’s next in the series, reports confirm that season 3 of The Mandalorian is already under development.
The Mandalorian Season 2 will premier on Disney+ in October 2020.
