Metal Gear guru Hideo Kojima is back with a new installment in his epic series, exclusive to the PSP. A fantastic 10-minute trailer came out in September from the Tokyo Game Show and from what was shown, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker looks great. The graphics are easily on par with PS2 Metal Gear games and the storyline looks just as melodramatic as ever.

This installment of the series takes place in the twilight years of the Cold War. The main character will be our favorite bad-ass Big Boss and he looks like he’s bringing some friends with. The game will also be featuring Private Military Companies like Metal Gear Solid 4 and will be set in South America.

It seems that Big Boss has had enough of the United States exploiting South American countries and allowing extraordinarily powerful PMCs to operate with impunity. He’s recruiting a very special unit with what looks like FOXHOUND tags on them. Big Boss is continuing his insurrection against the country that forced him to kill his mentor and abandon his principles. It looks like there’s a lot more history to be told about him and the The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3 as well.

There is a Japanese demo available for download at the moment and an English translation in the works. Metal Heads will still have to wait for an exact release date for the English demo and the game itself. Game Rant will be on it like Snake on a hapless guards neck.

Will you be adding this to your PSP collection?
