Any prospective importers that were eyeing the nifty Monster Hunter Rise-themed Switch console may want to cancel their orders. Capcom has announced that the fetching handheld will be making its way to the US when Rise launches on March 26, 2021. There are no pre-order links ready yet, so we’ll keep you posted when details are made available.
It remains to be seen if Monster Hunter Rise will eventually release on other platforms. That seems unlikely, but a Nintendo leak from months ago stated Capcom would be bringing this particular entry to PC. That would be cool, but Monster Hunter is practically begging for some kind of portable console.
While the recent demo of Rise featured some performance issues, it was hardly a detriment to the core game. Series fans will be used to worse and Monster Hunter’s core gameplay shines through regardless. That you can pair that up with a themed console and controller on Switch is like icing on the cake. I practically want this and I don’t even need a second console.
