During the 2020 Game Awards, host Geoff Keighley and a culinary-minded muppet announced that the Muppets character the Swedish Chef will is now a free downloadable character in Overcooked All You Can Eat.
In the middle of the Game Awards show, a special guest called in — The Swedish Chef. Proudly holding a Game Award made from tinfoil and leftovers, he showed viewers his “loodle” and “whoosk” as Geoff Keighley redirected him to the matter at hand.
It turned out that the fuzzy Swede was there to announce that he’s now a downloadable character in Overcooked All You Can Eat.
In the trailer announcing the Swedish Chef’s appearance, you can see him chopping and serving up orders like any other member of the Overcooked crew. (His model does not, however, have the realistic human hands that the Chef sported in his call to Geoff Keighley.)
Xbox’s YouTube channel uploaded it on their YouTube channel shortly after the Game Awards announcement for anyone who missed it.

Overcooked All You Can Eat combines content from Overcooked and Overcooked 2 into a game for the new console generation. It includes upscaled graphics and faster framerates, as well as 7 new levels, 3 new chefs and more achievements.
Publisher Team17 released Overcooked All You Can Eat shortly after Overcooked 2: Gourmet Edition, a package that includes the base game for Overcooked 2 and its additional content. It differs from All You Can Eat in the fact that you can play it on PlayStation 4 and XBox One.
The Swedish Chef’s reveal happened among plenty of exciting awards and announcements. Some of the exciting reveals included a new trailer for the next Dragon Age game and Sephiroth’s addition to the Super Smash Brothers roster. Shortly before the Swedish Chef’s appearance, Laura Bailey won the Best Performance Award for her role as Abby in The Last of Us: Part 2.
Next year, it’ll be time to amp up the Muppets-related announcements with the next logical step: Swedish Chef for Smash. Considering what the roster looks like at this point, you know it’s not entirely out of the question.
