For many fans, watching TV hasn’t been the same since The Office finished airing in 2013. Adapting the original British show, the series initially struggled during its first season before diverging from the source material. Following seasons received critical acclaim and positive reviews up to the series finale with The Office’s scenes being remembered even today. Afterwards, a reunion has always been wishful thinking, but recent events have stirred up the question once again.

Since The Office ended, its cast members have all gone on to even bigger roles. Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott for 7 seasons, would arguably become the most successful through starring in movies like Despicable Me and Anchorman 2. Soon Carell will reunite with The Office producer Greg Daniels on Netflix’s Space Force in May which naturally caused further interest.

When asked about the topic, Daniels expressed gratitude for being able to work with Carell again before noting that The Office will also be on the Peacock streaming service by next year. He then stated that there’s a chance something could be put together, but emphasized not wanting to change the characters who were all given an ending previously. Finally, Daniels mentioned there was a Season 1 script called “Pet Day” that was never shot and jokingly said that could be enough of a reason to bring everyone together.

Furthermore, other Office cast members have continued to show a desire to reunite over the years. Different ideas have been thrown out such as a Christmas special, a possible reboot, or even just talking together again. In the end, nothing can be confirmed right now, but the renewed interest may mean something will happen in the future.
